Climbing Trainer, Kris Peters, wrote our Bouldering Strength and Power Program, our Route Climbing Training Program, as well as our 6-Week Power Endurance Program. Originally from Massachusetts, Kris is one of the top climbing trainers in the U.S. and has worked with pro-level climbers, including Daniel Woods, Sasha DiGiulian, Nina Williams, Emily Harrington, Matt Segal, Matty Hong, and many others.

However, luckily for the rest of us, he doesn’t just work with genetic mutants. He works with climbers of all levels every day, training people one-on-one, in group sessions, and from a distance with climbers all over the world.

With many certificates as a Personal Trainer, as well as a degree in the field, Kris is highly qualified to guide you through this comprehensive climbing training program for as long as you want to stay with him.

His Credentials

  • Degree in Exercise Science from the University of Texas at Tyler
  • NASM CPT
  • NASM CES
  • NASM PES
  • NPTI CPT
  • Internship in Miami
  • TRX Certified
  • He’s been training climbers since 2010
  • He’s been training athletes of all kinds since 2004.

His Experience

Kris actually wanted to coach pro football players, and that’s what he was learning about in his internship in Miami, FL. But then he discovered climbing and fell in love with it. He moved out to Colorado and ended up working with athletes at Movement Climbing and Fitness, and realized the need  for proper training among the elite climbers he met there.

He committed to working with climbers instead of football players and set out to make a difference in the climbing world. Through working with pro and amateur climbers alike, Kris has honed his craft at creating incredibly effective training programs for people of all abilities.

From 2012-2015, Kris teamed up with prodigious climber, Justen Sjong, to create Team of 2, and together they hosted group and individual training programs at climbing gyms around the country. Kris currently trains people in person all over the country and online all over the world. He’s an incredibly hard worker, and he’s dedicated to climbers’ success.

In his spare time (which is not often) he road bikes, fanatically watches sports, and goes rock climbing all over the West. If you have specific questions for him, or if you’d like to do personal training with him, please email kris@trainingbeta.com.
